Craps rules

Description and Objective
With a table that seems to have hundreds of different kinds of bets,
Craps kan be an intimidating game for beginners. First thing to learn
about Craps is that it is a game of rounds. The Come out roll is fhe
first roll in a round and this roll can sometimes determine the outcome
of a round. If the Come out roll is a 2, 3, 7, 11, or 12 the round
ends immediately. All other totals rolled (4 ,5, 6, 8, 9 or 10) is
called the Point. Should players forget what the Point is, a White
puck is placed on an area of the table to illustrate this. When a
point is rolled the dice will keep on rolling until the same point
is rolled again or a 7.
Button And Table Bet Descriptions
Placing A Bet
You can choose the amount you want to bet with each click. Clicking
on the chip amount adds to the ”Amount to bet per click”
section.
After you have chosen the correct amount you can click on the region
of the table for the type of bet you want to place. If you want to
change the amount you bet on different sections, you can do this in
the ”Amount to bet per click” section. The chips you bet
will is placed on the table. Green areas will indicate where bets
can be placed (added to) and red areas will indicate where bets cannot
be made. You can right click on a bet if you want to remove it from
the table. Now the amount of chips is removed from your stack on the
table.
Roll
To start a new round and set the dice in motion you simply place a
bet and click on the Roll button. Losing bets will be removed from
the table and winning bets will be paid, after the dice come to a
rest. If you have placed a winning bet, the original bet amount is
returned after the winnings are paid out, and any bets that tie (push)
are also returned.
Repeat
If you want to repeat all the bets you made on the previous round
that can be validly placed now, you just click on the Repeat button.
Clear
To remove all removable bets on the table, just click on the Clear
button.
You can never exceed the maximum bet on the odds, but with exception
of the Pass and Come bets, most bets can be added to, deducted from,
or removed at any time.
Bet Regions
A yellow ”tag” will appear and give you the name of the
bet when you move the cursor over the different bet regions. It also
tells you the current amount placed for that bet, and the betting
minimum and maximum amount you can place on that bet.
Green and red highlights may appear in a region. Green indicates the
bet can be placed or changed, and red indicates the bet cannot be
increased (but sometimes can be removed).
Craps Bets
The Pass Line
The most fundamental bet in Craps is the Pass Line
and most players at the table bets on it.
The Pass Line is an even money bet. You begin by placing the bet on
the Pass Line area on the table on a Come out roll. You win if the
Come out roll is a 7 or 11. This is called a ”natural”.
You loose if the Come out roll is 2, 3 or 12. This is called ”Craps”.
If any point is rolle don the Come out roll if the point is rolled
again before a 7 you win. If a 7 is rolled before the point you lose.
That is the jist of it. You are ready to play Craps once you understand
the Pass Line bet, but you might want to play with fun money for a
while before you play with real money.
Buying The Odds
You may bet up to 2 times your Pass Line bet on the ’odds’
once a point has been thrown. The odds are simply an extra bet that
the Point will be rolled before a 7. There is less than 50% probability
of the Point being rolled first so you win more than you bet if it
happens. The odds pay 6:5 if the Point is a 6 or 8, the odds pay 3:2
if the Point is 5 or 9, and the odds pay 2:1 if the Point is 4 or
10.
-------------------------------
Don’t Pass
The Don’t Pass is nearly the opposite of the Pass Line bet.
When the Come out roll is a 2 or 3 you win, and when it is 7 or 11
you lose. A 12 is a push. Until either the Point or a 7 is rolled,
the dice are rolled over and over. If 7 is rolled before the Point
you win.
Persons betting on the Don’t Pass are not the bet choice by
many players, because this bet is a bet against the shooter. This
is called a ”wrong” bettor and is usually winning while
everyone else is losing, and vice versa.
Laying The Odds
Laying the odds is the opposite of buying odds. It is betting that
a 7 is rolled before the Point.
-The don’t odds pay 1:2 if the Point is a 4 or 10.
-The don’t odds pay 2:3 if the Point is a 5 or 9.
-The don’t odds pay 5:6 if the Point is a 6 or 8.
Come
Come bets are like Pass Line bets but they may be made at any time.
Like the Pass Line bet you may also put money on the odds if a Point
is thrown on the first roll after the Come bet is placed.
The player should know about a nuance there is to
the Come bet. Should a Point be thrown with still active Come bets
on the table waiting for a different Point, then these special rules
will apply for the following Come out roll. The Come out roll will
still apply to the active Come bets, but it will will not apply to
their respective odds bets. If a Come bet is resolved on a Come out
roll, then the odds bet is returned and the original Come bet is lost.
This is one of Craps most exciting bets. Many players will use this
bet to get more numbers working for them simultaneously. Six in all.
Don’t Come
Same as pass or Don’t Pass, there is also Come or Don’t
Come. If the player rolls a 2 or 3, you win. If he rolls a 12 it is
a tie. If player rolls a 7 or 11, you lose. Any other number rolled
is the ”Come Point”. You win if the player rolls a 7 before
the Come Point and you lose if the player rolls the Come Point before
a 7.
Other Craps Bets
Place Number Bets: This is almost the same as laying odds. You can
bet on a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10. When the number you have bet on is rolled
before a 7 you will win according to the payoff schedule below. These
bets function exactly like the odds except unlike laying odds you
do not need to have a Pass Line bet. During a come out roll place
number bets are ON or Working. These bets may be removed at any time.
-A Place Bet on 4 or 10 will pay 9:5. If you bet
$10 you will win $18.
-A Place Bet on 5 or 9 will pay 7:5. If you bet $10
you will win $14.
- A Plave Bet on 6 or 8 will pay 7:6. If you bet
$12 you will win $14.
If a Place Bets wins, you will be paid your winnings
and your original bet is returned. Active Place Bets may be taken
back at any time.
Buy Bets: This is basically the
same as the Place Bet, but with a different payoff. The player can
”buy” any of the points (4, 5, 6, 8, 9, and 10). This
means betting that the nnumber is rolled before a 7. When you make
a buy bet, a 4% commission must be paid and your bet will pay fair
odds if it wins. Fair odds are 2:1 on a 4 and 10, 3:2 on a 5 and 9,
and 6:5 on a 6 and 8. In other words the buy bets pays 48:25 on a
4 and 10, 36:25 on a 5 and 9, and 144:125 on a 6 and 8. Pay out on
all bets made are rounded down to the nearest quarter.
Lay Bets: This bet is the opposite
of the buy bet but the same as the Place Bet if you lose, but with
different paybacks. Lay bets can be placed on 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10.
But you are now betting a 7 is rolled before the number you choose.
You are also betting more than you can win now, because a 7 is the
most likely number to be rolled. The player have to pay a 4% commission
on possible winnings and the fair odds will be paid on the bet itself.
Fair odds are 1:2 on a 4 or 10, 2:3 on a 5 and 9, and 5:6 on a 4 and
8. In other words the lay bet pays 12:25 on a 4 and 10, 16:25 on a
5 and 9, and 12:15 on a 6 and 8.
Hard Ways: Craps has four different
hard way bets. A hard 4 is betting that a pair of twos are rolled
before a 7 or any other way to roll a total of 4. Because it is harder
to roll two twos than a one and a three, this is called ”the
hard way”. You can also bet on a hard 6, 8 or 10. In other words
you bet that the hard way of rolling that particular number will occur
before a 7 or any ”easy” ways are rolled.
-The casino will pay 7:1 on a hard 4 or 10.
-The casino will pay 9:1 on a hard 6 or 8.
Place Lose Bet: This is a bet that 7 is rolled before
4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10 is rolled. Very similar to Lay bets and Don’t
Pass bets, Place Lose will win if a 7 is rolled before the selected
number and Place Lose will lose if the selected number is rolled before
a 7. Lose odds are 9:5 on a 4 and 10, 7:5 on a 5 and 9, and 7:6 on
a 6 and 8.
Big 6: This is betting that a 6
will be rolled before a 7. The bet pays even money.
Big 8: This is betting that a 8
will be rolled before a 7.
Big 6 and Big 8
cannot be placed on the Come out roll. And after a point is rolled,
they are not working on the next Come out roll.
If you want to compare the different place number
bets, you can find a summary in the table below.
---------------------
No chips will be broken. All payout amounts will
be rounded down to the closest dollar. This means that a $5 Place
bet on a 6 or 8 will pay $5, and a $6 bet will pay $7. And a $5 bet
on a 6 or 8 will pay $7, not $7.50.
The Proposition Bets
Proposition bets can be won or lost on the next throw.
The various bets are described below.
-Craps 2: This bets that a 2 is
thrown on the next roll. It pays 30:1.
-Craps 3: This bets that a 3 is
thrown on the next roll. It pays 15:1.
-Seven: This bets that a 7 is thrown
on the next roll. It pays 4:1.
-11(e): This bets that an 11 is
thrown on the next roll. It pays 15:1.
-Craps 12: This bets that a 12 is
thrown on the next roll. It pays 30:1.
-Any Craps(c): This bets that a
2, 3, or 12 is thrown on the next roll. It pays 7:1.
-Field Bet: A one time bet that
the next roll is a 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, or 12. Here the 12 pays 3:1,
and the 2 pays 2:1, while the 3, 4, 9, 10, and 11 pay even money.

Note: Lige over paragraffen ’Don’t Pass’ er
der indlagt et skema som jeg har udeladt. Her er en stiplet linie
indsat.
Note: Legeledes er en stiplet linie indsat mellem paragrafferne lige
over The Proposition Bets helt nederst i dokumentet. Endnu et skema
mangler her.
Note: Og jeg er i tvivl om den sidste paragraf (The information contained
above…..) overhovedet skal med.
